About

About the Blog – What you can expect here:

Real I believe that being genuine is a quality not used enough. You can expect to find me writing from a very genuine and open place in these posts. I’m not claiming to be right (or anything else), but I will promise to be myself.

Random I’m known by some of my friends to be the ‘queen of random’. I will pop-in on my coworkers with the latest “Did you know…” or “Guess what I heard on my way in to work today…”. So, that’s a little of what random might mean. It also means that you’re not going to find a concentration of any one topic here. I work in marketing, PR, social media, and fundraising for a non-profit healthcare system. So you’ll definitely see elements of that but you’ll also find me talking about various industries and aspects of my volunteer and community work. I’ll also throw in a little about about my family, but not too much because you’ll find (if I’m keeping it real) I’m an overly cautious person.

Relevant While the overall make-up of the blog’s content might be random, I hope someone finds it relevant. To that point, I will do my best to keep the info timely and updated. I’m not going to try to be everything to everyone, but simply something to someone. Me. If you find it relevant, even better.

About Me

I am a married mother of two and enjoying serving others through promoting their ideas and success. I am passionate about my employer (Parkview Health) but please note that all opinions expressed here are my own. You’ll also find me championing Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana, Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana and YLNI. The great thing about being an emerging leader in our community is that each individual has a big opportunity to make an impact. My friend Amber and I also run Contagious Community in the hopes of inspiring others to be generous and serve.

As background, I am a BA graduate of IPFW and MSOL graduate of Indiana Tech and serve as Director of Community Engagement for Parkview Health. I have previously served as a member of the Northeast Indiana Regional Vision Coordinating Committee; the Coalition for Human Services Appointed by Mayor Tom Henry; as well as a board member for Friends of the Parks of Allen County and the Northeast Indiana Green Build Coalition.

No matter my service area, I try to bring a passion and generous spirit to my service. My skill set is based in strategy, marketing, public relations and new media. As such, I’ve had the opportunity to speak to various groups in scope and size on topics like social media, the Power of 2, and mentoring.

I received the 2011 IPFW Outstanding Young Alumni Award, was a nominee for the Athena Award in 2011 and am a recipient of the 2010 Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly “40 Under 40” award and the 2008 Upstate Indiana Business Journal “Future 40” award, as well as a 2007 YLNI Leadership Institute grad.

In my free time, you’ll find me spending time with my husband and children. Often, we’ll be taking in a local sporting event or concert—especially anything happening in downtown.
