Author Malcolm Gladwell in his book Outliers discusses a phenomenon that he calls “The 10,000 Hour Rule.” Gladwell quotes neurologist Daniel Levitin, who says that scientific studies show that 10,000 hours are required to achieve the level of mastery associated with being a world-class expert — in anything.
